Tongan Public Holiday March 1st

Tonga's Prime Minister's Office has issued a communiqué announcing that Wednesday, March 1st, 2017, would be marked as an official non-working public holiday in Tonga in honour of the Queen Mother, Halaevalu Mata’aho, who died last Sunday.

The declaration of Wednesday, March 1st, 2017, would be marked as an official non-working public holiday in Tonga in honour of the Queen Mother, Halaevalu Mata’aho, is in addition to Tonga's Ministry of Information and Communications communiqué announcing the official list of non-working public holidays in Tonga for the calendar year 2017, announced late last year (2016-12-24), and with the terms of the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2010" (Act No. 10 of 2010) which amended the public holidays legislation of Tonga (2010-05-19 and 2010-04-08).
