Tonga's Prime Minister's Office has issued a communiqué announcing that Wednesday, November 29, 2017, would be marked as an official non-working public holiday in Tonga "to mark the deeds of their rugby league team at the Rugby League World Cup".

The declaration of Wednesday, November 29, 2017, would be marked as an official non-working public holiday in Tonga to mark the deeds of their rugby league team at the Rugby League World Cup, is once again (25-Feb-2017) in addition to Tonga's Ministry of Information and Communications communiqué announcing the official list of non-working public holidays in Tonga for the calendar year 2017, announced late last year (24-Dec-2016), and with the terms of the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2010" (Act No. 10 of 2010) which amended the public holidays legislation of Tonga (19-May-2010 and 08-Apr-2010).
