The permanent secretary in Uganda's Ministry of Public Service, Catherine Bitarakwate Musingwiire, has announced that the government of Uganda had declared Friday, September 1, 2017, as the date of the upcoming Eid Adhuha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday in Uganda.

The aforementioned announcement ("next Friday 1st September 2017 is Eid al-Adha and will be observed as a public holiday throughout Uganda") follows the Saudi Umm al-Qura calendar, which Ugandan public holidays sometimes follow (2016-09-06, 2015-07-16, 2014-10-02, 2013-10-04, 2012-10-18 and 2009-11-24), but not systematically (2008-12-06).
