Antigua and Barbuda's returned Prime Minister, Gaston Browne, has announced that as per tradition, he would declare tomorrow, Thursday, March 22, 2018, as a one-off post-election public holiday in Antigua and Barbuda.

The aforementioned declaration of tomorrow, Thursday, March 22, 2018, as a one-off post-election public holiday in Antigua and Barbuda, thus amends the list of official 2018 public holidays in Antigua and Barbuda, as announced late last year (2017-12-13).

In Antigua and Barbuda (2014-06-12 and 2009-03-12), as in many Caribbean countries, it is common, though not systematic (2011-11-28), for the day after an election to be declared as a one-off non-working public holiday (2017-12-18, 2015-05-09, 2015-04-23, 2015-02-17, 2014-11-06, 2014-06-12, 2013-02-20, 2010-02-16, 2010-01-26, 2010-01-10, 2009-12-30, 2009-12-19, 2009-09-08, 2009-03-13, 2005-02-22, 2005-05-05, 2005-02-22, 2003-05-21, 2003-10-21, 2003-11-27, 2007-01-02, 2001-12-03 and 1997-05-23).
