Bangladesh's Cabinet Division Secretary has announced that the previously-released list of official non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the calendar year 2018 had been amended by moving the date of the upcoming Eid-e-Miladunnabi (Prophet's Birthday) annual non-working public holiday of Bangladesh, to Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
Today's aforementioned announcement that the annual Eid-e-Miladunnabi (birthday of the Prophet Mohammad) non-working public holiday in Bangladesh would be observed on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, instead of November 20th, follows the announcement by the Chairman of Bangladesh's National Moon Sighting Committee that the moon of the month of Rabiul Awal Hijri 1440 had not been sighted in Bangladesh's sky yesterday and therefore that the annual Eid-e-Miladunnabi (birthday of the Prophet Mohammad), would be observed on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
The announcement is in contrast to the date announced in the list of non-working public holidays in Bangladesh in 2018, which was released last fall (2018-01-06 and 2017-11-06) by the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
