The government of Bangladesh has announced that, upon the recommendation of Bangladesh's National Moon Sighting Committee and Religious Affairs Committee, the upcoming Lailatul Qadr or Shab-e-Qadr (night of destiny) in Bangladesh would be observed on the evening of Tuesday, June 12, 2018, to be followed on the next day by the corresponding annual non-working public holiday in Bangladesh.
The aforementioned announcement is, once again (2017-05-29), in contrast with the official list of 2018 non-working public holidays in Bangladesh, as contained in the official announcement of the list of 2018 public holidays in Bangladesh (2017-11-06), as the non-working public holiday related to the Lailatul Qadr is observed on the day which follows the Lailatul Qadr in Bangladesh.
