The Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, has declared a one-off non-working public sector holiday in Dominica, on Thursday, September 13, 2018, on account of the passage of tropical storm Isaac.

The aforementioned declaration of a one-off non-working public sector holiday in Dominica, on Thursday, September 13, 2018, thus amends the official list of 2018 non-working public holidays in Dominica, as announced at the beginning of this year (2018-01-14).

Though the announced one-off non-working public sector holiday in Dominica, on Thursday, September 13, 2018, only applies to the public sector, the Dominica government could enact legislation before the end of the year which would give authorities the right to declare a one-off public holiday for the private sector as well, in the event of an approaching storm or other natural disasters.
