Indonesia's Head of Information Center of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Bahtiar has announced that President Joko Widodo would soon declare a one-off public holiday in Indonesia on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, on the date of the upcoming nationwide regional elections.

The aforementioned possible declaration of a one-off public holiday in Indonesia on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, on the date of the upcoming nationwide regional elections, thus amends the already amended list of public holidays in Indonesia for the current year (2018-05-15, 2018-04-18, 2017-12-24, 2017-10-03).

In Indonesia, the date of elections is often declared a public holiday (2017-04-18, 2017-02-08, 2015-11-25, 2015-07-27, 2014-10-21, 2014-07-02, 2014-04-03, 2014-01-23, 2012-09-15, 2012-06-21, 2010-05-10, 2009-07-03, 2009-03-31, 2008-07-06, 2004-03-30 and 1999-05-29).
