Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto has announced that the government of Indonesia had agreed to declare Wednesday, June 27, 2018, the date of the upcoming nationwide regional elections a one-off public holiday in Indonesia ("It has been approved, it is a national holiday of all regions").

Last week (2018-06-22), we had reported that Indonesia's Head of Information Center of the Ministry of Home Affairs had announced that President Joko Widodo would soon declare a one-off public holiday in Indonesia on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, on the date of the upcoming nationwide regional elections, thus further amending the list of public holidays in Indonesia for the current year (2018-05-15, 2018-04-18, 2017-12-24, 2017-10-03).

In Indonesia, the date of elections is often declared a public holiday (2017-04-18, 2017-02-08, 2015-11-25, 2015-07-27, 2014-10-21, 2014-07-02, 2014-04-03, 2014-01-23, 2012-09-15, 2012-06-21, 2010-05-10, 2009-07-03, 2009-03-31, 2008-07-06, 2004-03-30 and 1999-05-29).
