The President of Liberia, George Manneh Weah, has issued a proclamation declaring Friday, August 24, 2018, as non-working public holidays to be observed throughout the Republic of Liberia as national non-working public holidays on account of National Holiday.

The aforementioned National Holiday public holiday was set aside as an annual non-working public holiday by an Act approved on October 25, 1915 by the National Legislature of the Republic of Liberia.

Such last-minute re-confirmation of annual public holidays are a staple of the Liberian public holidays calendar (2018-03-10, 2017-05-12, 2017-02-09, 2016-08-22, 2016-05-12, 2015-04-09, 2015-03-14, 2014-07-17, 2014-04-10, 2013-04-05, 2013-03-13, 2012-11-27, 2012-10-31, 2012-07-23, 2011-11-01, 2011-04-06, 2010-11-03, 2010-07-23 and 2010-04-08).
