Madagascar's Conseil de Gouvernement, on the recommendation of the "Conseil National du Travail", has taken into advisement the "Projet de décret fixant la liste des jours fériés, chômés et payés au titre de l’année 2018", which declares the list of non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2018.

As per custom (2017-02-01, 2016-01-05, 2015-02-05, 2014-02-13, 2013-01-30, 2012-01-18, 2011-01-15, 2010-01-20, 2009-01-13 and 2008-01-16), the aforementioned list of 2018 Madagascar public holidays, confirms the cancellation, 4 years ago (2014-12-04), of the December 11 public holiday which was created at the end of 2010 (2010-12-10).

In the aforementioned list of 2018 Madagascar public holidays, there are public holidays reserved for Muslims, as was done some years (2014-02-13 and 2013-01-30), but not all (2016-01-05, 2015-04-30 and 2015-03-26) and, as 2018 is an election year, we can expect 2 additional one-off non-working public holidays in 2018 in Madagascar, as was done in the past (2013-08-19, 2013-06-07, 2013-02-10, 2012-08-02, 2012-07-19, 2012-06-08, 2011-01-15, 2011-01-10, 2010-12-20, and 2010-11-16).
