Madagascar's Conseil de Gouvernement has declared Wednesday, December 19, 2018, as another one-off non-working public holiday in Madagascar on account of the second round of the upcoming Madagascar presidential election.
A couple of months ago (2018-09-21), Madagascar's Conseil de Gouvernement had similarly declared Wednesday, November 7, 2018, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Madagascar on account of the first round of the then upcoming Madagascar presidential election.
The aforementioned declaration of Wednesday, November 7, and Wednesday, December 19, 2018, as one-off non-working public holidays in Madagascar on account of the first and second rounds of this year's presidential election, thus supplements the "Projet de décret fixant la liste des jours fériés, chômés et payés au titre de l’année 2018", which declared the list of non-working public holidays in Madagascar for the calendar year 2018, approved earlier this year (2018-02-26), and which had left open the possibility of additional electoral public holidays being declared in Madagascar, as had happened in the past (2013-08-19, 2013-06-07, 2013-02-10, 2012-08-02, 2012-07-19, 2012-06-08, 2011-01-15, 2011-01-10, 2010-12-20, and 2010-11-16).
