Oman's Minister of Manpower has announced that the non-working public holiday in Oman on the occasion of the upcoming annual Hijri New Year 1440, would occur on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
As per the aforementioned announcement, "Friday will be the first day of Muharram which falls on September 22, 2017" and therefore "The first day of the Islamic New Year -- Muharram 1, 1440 -- will be a holiday for the private sector in Oman".
