Timor Leste 2018 Public Holidays Announced

The government of Timor Leste has issued a press communiqué containing its annual list of official non-working public holidays in Timor Leste for the calendar year 2018 (Feriadu sira iha tinan 2017).

As usual (2017-01-18, 2016-01-29, 2015-02-27, 2014-02-05, 2013-01-28, 2011-12-28 and 2010-12-30), the aforementioned announcement of the annual list of official non-working public holidays in Timor Leste for the calendar year 2018 (Loron feriadu ho data fiksa no variável ne'ebé determina tiha ona tuir Lei n.o 10/2005, fulan agostu, ba tinan 2018 mak hanesan tuir mai ne'e), follows the precepts of law No.10/2005, which overhauled Timor Leste's public holidays (2005-08-12), including the recent amendments to the legislation governing non-working public holidays in Timor Leste (2016-05-28).

The aforementioned list of official public holidays in Timor Leste for the calendar year 2018 applies to both the private and public sectors. However, in addition, public sector employees regularly are granted additional one-off, but predictable, public holidays (2017-12-29, 2017-11-10, 2017-04-10, 2016-12-21, 2016-10-29, 2016-07-05, 2016-03-21, 2016-02-09, 2015-12-21, 2015-08-19, 2015-06-04, 2015-05-11, 2015-03-31, 2015-02-16, 2014-08-13, 2014-04-15, 2014-03-01, 2013-11-25, 2013-08-16, 2013-03-25, 2013-02-11, 2012-12-20, 2012-11-26, 2012-10-29, 2012-07-07, 2012-07-03, 2012-05-15, 2012-04-11, 2012-04-04, 2012-03-15, 2012-02-17 and 2012-01-20).
