The Governor of the US Virgin Islands, Kenneth Mapp, has once again declared additional public sector holidays in the US Virgin Islands on account of the upcoming Carnival 2018.

The announcement of additional public sector holidays is a staple of the US Virgin Islands' calendar of non-working public holidays (2017-04-19, 2016-12-20, 2016-11-18, 2015-04-25, 2014-12-22, 2011-12-20, 2010-12-28, 2006-12-21, 2005-12-06, 2004-12-22, 2003-12-17, and 2002-12-16).
