Argentina's President, Alberto Fernández, has decreed, in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Argentina, year-end public holidays for Argentina's public sector, on December 24 and 31, 2019, in addition to the previously-announced 2019 official non-working public holidays in Argentina.
As per the press communiqué which accompanied the aforementioned decree, the Government of Argentina has declared December 24 and 31, 2019, as non-working public holidays for Argentina's public sector "with the aim of facilitating the classic family gatherings that are held on those dates, and enabling the approach of those who, for various reasons, are domiciled away from their loved ones" ("con el objetivo de facilitar las clásicas reuniones familiares que se realizan en dichas fechas, y posibilitar el acercamiento de quienes, por diversas causas, se domicilian lejos de sus seres queridos"), in addition to the 2019 official public holidays already announced (2017-11-10).
Note that banks and financial markets in Argentina already have the afternoon off on both December 24 and 31, on an annual basis, due to 2 year-end bank holidays of Argentina.
