Armenian Parliament Adds December 7 Holiday

The Armenian Parliament has unanimously passed a bill in its first reading, amending to Article 15 of the law “On Holidays and Remembrance Days”, with the declaration of a new holiday, the Day of Remembrance for Earthquake Victims and Disaster Resistance on December 7.

Earlier this year (2019-04-09 and 2019-03-21), the Armenian Parliament had similarly approved the bill presented by the government amending the law on holidays and commemoration days, with the declaration of a new holiday, the Day of the Citizen of the Republic of Armenia which was to be celebrated on the last Saturday of April ("In case when May 1 coincides with Saturday, the Citizen’s Day will be celebrated on the last Sunday of April").
