Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has issued a circular declaring Monday and Tuesday, September 9 and 10, 2019, as this year's non-working public holidays in Bahrain to mark the upcoming anniversary of Ashura for the Hijri year 1441 ("The Kingdom's ministries, directorates and public institutions will be closed on Monday September 9 and Tuesday September 10").

As happened many years (2015-10-21, 2013-11-10 and 2012-11-20), though not all (2014-10-29), as the aforementioned dates of Monday and Tuesday, September 9 and 10, 2019, as this year's non-working public holidays in Bahrain to mark the upcoming anniversary of Ashura for the Hijri year 1441 do not coincide with the Fridays and Saturdays weekly days of rest in Bahrain (2006-08-02), the circular does not declare compensatory non-working public holidays for the Bahraini governmental ministries, directorates and institutions.
