Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has issued a circular declaring Saturday, August 31, 2019, as a non-working public holiday in Bahrain to mark the upcoming annual Islamic New Year 1441 public holiday of Bahrain.

As was the case some past years, but not all (2018-09-09, 2017-09-26, 2015-10-11 and 2014-10-23), a compensatory public holiday was declared on Sunday, September 1, 2019 ("The day will be compensated by Sunday, as the holiday day falls on a weekly off day"), as the date of the non-working public holiday in Bahrain to mark the upcoming annual Islamic New Year 1440 public holiday, falls on a weekend (2006-08-02).
