The government of Colombia has confirmed the list of non-working public holidays to be observed in Colombia during the calendar year 2020.
Colombian public holidays follow the Ley 51 de 1983 (Diciembre 6), "Por la cual se traslada el descanso remunerado de algunos días festivos"), whereby most (but not all) public holidays in Colombia move to the next Monday whenever the official date occurs on a day other than a Monday, so as not to break the work weeks in half.
Law 51 of 1983, is also named Ley Emiliani, after its architect, who died 15 years ago (2005-10-02).
