Costa Rica's Ministry of Labour (Ministerio de Trabajo y Seguridad Social - MTSS) has released the annual list of official non-working public holiday in Costa Rica for the upcoming calendar year 2020.
As was the case in recent years (2018-12-05, 2017-12-01, 2016-12-12 and 2015-11-30), the aforementioned list of annual non-working public holiday in Costa Rica, for the upcoming calendar year 2020, is in line with the 2005 Abel Pacheco administration law (2005-03-17) which specified that 4 public holidays would move from mid-week to the following Monday (April 11, July 25, August 15, and October 12), and which has in subsequent years been emptied out of most of its substance (2007-10-05, 2009-06-26, and 2010-10-06).
However, a novelty of the announced list of the list of official non-working public holiday in Costa Rica for the upcoming calendar year 2020, is the replacement of the October 12, Día de Encuentro de Culturas, with a December 1, Día de la abolición del ejército, public holiday in Costa Rica (2019-12-02, 2019-07-18, 2018-12-08, 2017-01-18, 2016-09-19, 2014-11-28, 2014-07-31).
