Dominican Republic Confirms September 24 Public Holiday

The Ministry of Labour of the Dominican Republic has issued a communiqué confirming that the upcoming Día de Las Mercedes annual immovable non-working public holiday in the Dominican Republic, would be observed on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, as per the current public holidays legislation, and that that date would be an official non-working public holiday in the Dominican Republic ("la festividad religiosa Día de las Mercedes, que se celebra este martes 24 de septiembre, no se cambia").
The aforementioned announcement ("La clase trabajadora deberá reintegrarse a sus labores el miércoles 25 del mismo mes") that Tuesday, September 24, 2019, would be an official non-working public holiday in the Dominican Republic is in line with last fall's official listing of public holidays in the Dominican Republic for the year 2019 (2016-11-06), and the current public holidays legislation (2018-11-15), namely law 139-97.
