The government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has passed the resolution institutionalizing January 24 as the "journée historique de l’alternance politique pacifique en République Démocratique du Congo", but not having amended the "ordonnance n° 14/010 du 14 mai 2014 fixant la liste des jours fériés légaux en République démocratique du Congo", that date, for the moment, is not a legal public holiday in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Earlier this week, we had reported how the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was considering declaring January 24 a new annual public holiday in the DRC, but that the month of January was already busy with other Congolese public holidays, on January 1, 4, 16 and 17.
