Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, has announced that Monday, January 7, 2019, had been declared as a non-working official public holiday in Egypt for employees of the country’s private and public sectors, to mark Coptic Orthodox Christmas.

Earlier this week, Egypt's Central Bank had similarly announced that all Egyptian banks would be closed on Monday, January 7, 2019, a date which has been declared a bank holiday in Egypt on account of the upcoming "Orthodox Christmas".
