Guyana Could Declare March 2 Public Holiday

Guyana's President, David Granger, has announced that Monday, March 2, 2020, would be the date of the upcoming regional and general elections in Guyana.

The date of the past 3 general elections in Guyana were declared as one-off non-working public holidays in Guyana (2015-05-04, 2015-01-21, 2011-11-24, 2011-11-23, 2011-10-10 and 2006-08-23), but the date of the most recent local elections was not (2016-03-09).
