The government of Honduras has announced that the upcoming 2019 "Semana Morazánica", annual October public holidays of Honduras, would once again be extended by 2 days, this time Monday and Tuesday, September 30 and October 1, 2019, to run from Monday to Sunday, September 30 to October 6, 2019, inclusively.

Recall that, last week (2019-09-10), the Consejo Hondureño de la Empresa Privada (COHEP) of Honduras announced that the upcoming 2019 "Semana Morazánica", annual October public holidays of Honduras, for the private sector, would once again start at noon on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, and run until Sunday night, October 6, 2019, to compensate the fact that the Honduras private sector usually works a half day on Saturdays.

The banking sector of Honduras will follow the same bank holiday schedule for the upcoming 2019 Semana Morazánica public holidays of Honduras ("Asimismo las instituciones como las agencias bancarias trabajarán hasta el día miércoles hasta las 12:00 p.m., después gozarán del asueto el jueves (3 de octubre), viernes (4 de octubre) y sábado. Retornarán hasta el lunes (7 de octubre).").

Before 2014, Honduras had 3 annual October non-working public holidays, on the 3rd, the 12th and the 21st, and over the years, the government of Honduras often tinkered with these 3 annual non-working public holidays (2013-10-03, 2013-09-24, 2012-10-06, 2012-10-01, 2011-09-30, 2003-04-09, 2008-10-25, 2007-10-03, 2006-10-02, and 2005-09-30), but, then, in 2014, the "Decreto Legislativo No. 75-2014 del 29 de septiembre", published in the Diario Oficial La Gaceta (2014-10-27, 2014-10-02, 2014-09-10 and 2014-09-05), moved of all 3 of Honduras' annual October non-working public holidays to the last week of October.

A year later (2015-08-14, 2015-08-05, 2015-12-12 and 2015-07-01), the "Decreto Legislativo No. 75-2014 del 29 de septiembre" was amended, moving the 3 annual October public holidays of Honduras from the last week of October to the beginning of October, due to the rainy season coinciding with the end of October in Honduras, and "to give people more time to recover financially from these extended holidays before the onset of the Christmas shopping season".
