The State Cabinet of the Government of India's state of Karnataka has announced, via the NO.DP1\R 14 HHL 2019 dated Bangalore, 22.11.2019, its annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Karnataka for the upcoming calendar year 2020.
The aforementioned notification of the annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Karnataka for the upcoming calendar year 2020, are contained in a Government Order Notification issued by the General Administration department of Karnataka and signed by order of and in the name of the Govemor of Karnataka, and as usual (2017-11-17, 2017-11-10 and 2016-11-30), omits habitual public holidays on the years when they fall on a Sunday, as is the case in 2020 ("This list does not include Republic Day (26.01.2020), Basava Jayanthi/Akshaya Tritiya (26.04.2020), Last Day of Moharam (30.08.2020), Mahanavami, Ayudhapooja (25.10.2020). Kannada Rajyothsava (01.11.2020) which falls on Sundays & Naraka Chaturdashi (14.11.2020) which falls on Second Saturday & Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vratha (22.08.2020) which falls on Fourth Saturday.").
As for the Muslim public holidays in Karnataka in 2020, the Government Order specifies that "If any of the Holidays for the festivals of Muslim Fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, Muslim Fraternity in Government Service may be granted holiday on the date of observance in view of the holidays already notified.".
Later, one-off amendments, to the aforementioned list of non-working public holidays in India's state of Karnataka for the upcoming calendar year 2020, are always possible (2019-06-10 and 2019-01-21).
