Malawi's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced the annual list of official non-working public holidays in Malawi for the upcoming calendar year 2020.
Once again (2019-03-13, 2017-12-18, 2016-12-05, 2015-12-03 and 2014-11-29), the aforementioned announcement of the annual list of official non-working public holidays in Malawi for the upcoming calendar year 2020, includes the restored December 26 (Boxing Day) public holiday (2012-12-18), removed more than a decade ago (2007-10-01), from the official list of Malawi public holidays, as well as the Kamuzu Day public holiday, observed annually on May 14th, in honor of Malawi's first president Hastings Kamuzu Banda (2008-04-10).
As usual, the traditional extended Malawi Christmas and New Year public sector holidays (2019-12-05, 2018-12-12 and 2017-12-01), are not included in the official list of Malawi public holidays, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Malawi.
