Maurtitania's President has issued a decree declaring Tuesday, August 13, 2019, as an additional non-working public holiday in Mauritania, on account of the El Id El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday(s) in Mauritania.

Earlier this week (2019-08-05), Maurtitania's commission nationale d’observation du croissant lunaire had announced that the "croissant lunaire du mois d’El Koue-da de l’an 1440 de l’Hégire a complété 30 jours", meaning that Monday, August 12, 2019, would be declared as a non-working public holiday in Mauritania, on account of the El Id El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holiday in Mauritania.

As we remarked at the time we reported on the announcement by Maurtitania's commission nationale d’observation du croissant lunaire, that date of Monday, August 12, 2019, was in line with the list of the dates that were announced, late last year (2018-12-25), in the list of official non-working public holidays in Mauritania for the calendar year 2019, but we did expect the government of Mauritania to soon declare the day after the El Id El Adha public holiday, Tuesday, August 13, 2019, also as a non-working public holiday in Mauritania, as has been done in the past (2017-09-02, 2016-09-09, 2016-07-06, 2014-10-03, 2014-07-28).
