Earlier today, the President of Maurtitania, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, issued a communique declaring Wednesday, January 9, 2019, as a non-working public holiday in Mauritania, on account of the "marche citoyenne contre le discours de la haine et l’extrémisme" being held on that day.

The aforementioned date of Wednesday, January 9, 2019, thus amends the list of the dates that were announced, late last year (2018-12-25), in the list of official non-working public holidays in Mauritania for the calendar year 2019.
