Mauritius' Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth, has announced that Monday, July 29, 2019, had been declared as another one-off non-working half-day public holiday in Mauritius, on account of the number of medals won by the national team at the JIOI (Indian Ocean Island Games).

Earlier this month (2019-07-19), Mauritius' government had announced that it had declared the afternoon of Friday, July 19, 2019, as a one-off non-working half-day public holiday in Mauritius, on account of the opening ceremony of the JIOI (Indian Ocean Island Games), beginning at 14:00 (2pm), this afternoon, thus amending the 2019 list of official non-working public holidays in Mauritius, as announced, last year (2018-05-26), and already once amended for the visit of Pope Francis (2019-06-11).
