Moldova 2019 Public Holidays Extended

The Cabinet of Ministers of Moldova has decided to declare Monday, August 26, 2019, as a one-off non-working public holiday to link the annual, August 27, Independence Day, public holiday of Molova with the preceding weekend.

The aforementioned announcement thus amends the list of 2019 non-working public holidays in Moldova as announced last autumn (2018-11-27 and 2018-10-31).

As usual (2018-08-20, 2018-04-14, 2017-05-24, 2017-04-26, 2016-08-25, 2016-05-30, 2016-03-01, 2015-12-16, 2015-10-26, 2013-12-07, 2013-02-08, 2012-02-22 and 2011-08-10), the aforementioned decision by the Moldovan Cabinet of Ministers to declare Monday, August 26, 2019, as a one-off non-working public holiday, will be compensated by Saturday, August 17, 2019, being declared regular working day in Moldova.

Last year (2018-08-20), Moldova's Cabinet had created a 9-day period of public sector holidays by declaring Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, August 28-29-30, 2018, as a one-off bridge public sector holidays in Moldova to link one weekend and the annual August 27 public holiday and the next weekend and the annual August 31 public holiday of Moldova.
