The government of Nepal has declared tomorrow, Thursday, February 28, 2019, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Nepal, "to pay tribute to those killed in a chopper crash that took place in Pathibhara, Taplejung".
The aforementioned announcement of Thursday, February 28, 2019, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Nepal, is once again (2019-02-02 and 2018-05-04) in addition to the gazetted list (2018-03-31) of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year B.S. 2075 (April 2018-April 2019).
Almost 15 years ago (2006-09-26), the government of Nepal had similarly declared September 27, 2006, as a day of national mourning and public holiday, in memory of 24 people that included State Minister Gopal Rai and other prominent national and international personalities who perished in a helicopter crash at Lelep of the same Taplejung district.
