The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it would "remain closed from 12th to 15th August, 2019 (Monday to Thursday) being public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha", on the occasion of the upcoming annual Independence Day Bank Holiday of Pakistan and of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha annual non-working bank holiday of Pakistan.

The details of the aforementioned announcement, contained in a BPRD Circular Letter No. 19 of 2019, signed by Muhammad Saleem (Additional Director), which as per custom (2018-08-08, 2017-06-12, 2017-05-26, 2016-06-01, 2015-07-15, 2015-06-29, 2015-06-17, 2014-06-27, 2014-04-27, 2014-02-03, 2013-08-13, 2013-07-10, 2013-06-28, 2013-04-29, 2013-02-02, 2013-01-23, 2012-12-31, 2012-11-06, 2012-07-18 and 2012-06-25), goes on to state that the aforementioned announcement states that "the SBP offices and all banks/ development financial institutions, microfinance banks would remain closed for public dealings from 12th to 15th August, 2019".

The date of August 14, 2019, as a bank holiday throughout Pakistan, is in line with the list of "Public and Optional Holidays for the calendar year-2019" released in a circular by Pakistan's Ministry of the Interior, earlier this year (2019-01-09), but the Eid al Adha public holidays were extended as compared to the aforementioned circular by Pakistan's Ministry of the Interior (2019-08-02), this extension being compensated as specified in the BPRD Circular Letter No. 19 of 2019 which states that "It may, however, be noted that August 17, 2019 (Saturday) will be observed as working day from 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.".
