Panama's Committee on Labor, Health and Social Development of the National Assembly, has tabled the draft bill No. 261, which would declare December 20 of each year, from 2020, as a National Day of Mourning throughout Panama.
The aforementioned legislation, introduced by deputies Héctor Brands and Crispiano Adames of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) and Bernardino González of the Panamanian Party, would declare Friday, December 20, 2019, as a one-off public holiday, thus amending the previously-released list of 2019 public holidays in Panama (2019-01-07).
