Paraguay's president, Mario Abdo Benítez, has signed the executive decree No.3.018 which declares Tuesday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 31, 2019, a one-off public sector holidays in Paraguay ("declaró asueto el martes 24 y el martes 31 de diciembre de 2019 para los empleados de la administración pública y entidades descentralizadas").
Today's decree thus officializes last month's announcement by president Mario Abdo Benítez that he would declare Tuesday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 31, 2019, one-off public sector holidays in Paraguay (2019-11-14), in addition to the list of annual non-working public holidays in Paraguay for 2019 as announced late last year (2018-12-22).
Similar year-end public sector holidays have been declared in Paraguay in the past.
For instance, last year (2018-12-11), president Mario Abdo Benítez issued the decree No.848, similarly declaring Monday, December 24, and Monday, December 31, 2018, as one-off public sector holidays in Paraguay, applies to "la administración pública y las entidades descentralizadas", in addition to the list of annual non-working public holidays in Paraguay for 2018 as announced the preceding year (2017-11-21).
