The Peruvian executive has extended its earlier declaration of Friday, July 26, 2019, as a one-off, half-day, non-working public holiday in Peru, on account of the upcoming Pan-American Games being held in Lima in 2019 ("Juegos Panamericanos"), by similarly declaring Saturday, July 27, 2019 as a Día no laborable non-working public holiday.
Similar one-off public holidays were declared over the years in the Peruvian capital, Lima for various summits, such as the EU/Latin America/Caribbean and APEC summits, the ASPA Summit (Cumbre de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de América del Sur y Países Árabes), as well as the IMF and World Bank Summit (2017-12-27, 2016-08-13, 2015-09-29, 2015-09-12, 2012-09-27, 2012-09-17, 2012-09-14, 2011-02-10, 2011-01-27, 2008-11-19, 2008-02-07).
The announcement that Friday, July 26, 2019, would be one-off non-working public holidays in Peru, was made earlier this year (2019-05-16), and was in addition to the list of 2019 public holidays in Peru, as released, earlier this year, by the government of Peru (2019-01-04).
