A spokesman for Saudi Arabia's Civil Service Ministry has announced that Saudi Arabia’s upcoming National Day annual non-working public holidays of September 23, would be extended to run from Friday, September 20, 2019, to Monday, September 23, 2019, inclusively ("The holidays will be from September 20 to 23, with work resuming on Tuesday, September 24").

As per reports of the official announcement, "since Sunday, September 22 comes between two holidays (the weekend and the National Day) it has been declared an official holiday", as was done last year (2018-09-20).

Recall that, a few years ago (2013-04-22), Saudi Arabia's legislative and consultative Shoura Council approved Saudi Arabia switching its weekend to Friday-Saturday from the previous Thursday-Friday.
