Sri Lanka's Government has ruled-out the declaration of Friday, November 15, 2019, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Sri Lanka, on account of the upcoming Sri Lankan Presidential Election on November 16.
The announcement that Friday, November 15, 2019, would not be a one-off non-working public holiday in Sri Lanka, is in line with the official list of Sri Lankan public holidays for the calendar year 2019, as announced last year (2008-05-01).
The ministry of Education of Sri Lanka did, however, announce that that all government schools in the country will be closed on November 15, "to facilitate the process of holding the Presidential polls on November 16".
