The Industrial Relations Minister of the Government of the Australian State of Western Australia, Bill Johnston, has announced that, as part of the current negotiations with the state government employees, Western Australia public sector employees have been offered a new non-working public holiday.
Lat summer (2018-08-19), we had reported that the McGowan Government of the Australian State of Western Australia, was considering declaring Easter Sunday as a public holiday in the Australian State of Western Australia, as early as next year.
Surprisingly enough, the promise of being given Easter Sunday as a public holiday did not wow anyone, and the current proposed new public holiday for WA public sector employees, is specified as being instead of the proposed Easter Sunday public holiday.
If the aforementioned declaration of a new public holiday for WA public sector employees, came to pass, then it would imply a revision of the already-announced list of 2019, 2020 and 2021, non-working public holidays in Western Australia (2019-01-12, 2018-01-03 and 2017-06-26).
