Zimbabwe's Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Aaron Nhepera, has announced that the Government of Zimbabwe had declared Monday, December 23, 2019, as a public holiday in Zimbabwe, "as it comes after the celebration of National Unity Day on Sunday, December 22".
The aforementioned announcement that Monday, December 23, 2019, had been declared as a one-off public holiday in Zimbabwe, thus further amends (2019-10-21), the dates for the 2019 non-working public holidays in Zimbabwe, as announced last year (2018-09-22), although it was to be expected, as Section 2(1) (ii) of the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act of Zimbabwe, states that "when a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the following working day becomes a public holiday".
