Angola's Ministry of Public Service and Social Security (MAPESS) has announced the list of non-working public holidays in Angola for the calendar year 2020.
The aforementioned release of the list of non-working public holidays in Angola for the calendar year 2020, as were past year lists of public holidays in Angola (2019-01-15, 2018-01-12, 2017-01-09 and 2016-01-30), is in line with the Angolan public holidays listed in the "Ley de los Feriados Nacionales y Locales" which revised (2010-12-16) the legislation on public holidays in Angola, which after some last-ditch attempts by the opposition, the reconciled bill was approved without any substantial changes at the end of January (2011-01-20) and signed into law by Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, the following month (2011-02-15).
