Armenia Declares January 27 Public Holiday

The Armenian government has declared Monday, January 27, 2020, as a one-off non-working public holidays in Armenia, to link the weekend of January 25-26 with the annual Day of Armenian Army public holiday of Armenia.

As was the case on the occasion of previous declarations of one-off non-working public holidays in Armenia (2018-10-10, 2018-10-05, 2018-04-12, 2018-04-12, 2018-03-05, 2018-01-25, 2017-08-16, 2017-04-20, 2017-04-04, 2016-09-03, 2016-03-17, 2016-02-19, 2015-09-10, 2015-07-11, 2015-04-13, 2014-12-02, 2014-01-12, 2013-11-22, 2013-05-15, 2013-05-02, 2012-06-23, 2012-04-18, 2012-02-22, 2011-02-24 and 2010-09-10), but not all (2018-11-29), Saturday, February 1, 2020, has been declared a regular working day in Armenia, thus amending the list of 2020 public holidays in Armenia, "to organize the rest of the citizens on the holiday and get prepared to the holiday in a proper way".

In addition to the declaration of Monday, January 27, 2020, as a one-off non-working public holidays in Armenia, the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Avinyan, added that "I also want to inform you that we will make a similar decision regarding May 28" and that "May 29 will be declared a day off, instead citizens will work on June 6".
