Benin's Minister of Labour and Social Security, Adidjatou Mathys, has issued a communique announcing that the government of Bénin had declared Sunday, November 1, 2020, as a non-working public holiday throughout Bénin on account of the upcoming "célébration de la fête de la Toussaint" annual non-working public holiday in the Bénin.
The aforementioned declaration of Sunday, November 1, 2020, as a public holiday on account of the upcoming All Saints Day annual non-working public holiday in the Bénin was made in a radio announcement ("En raison de la célébration de la fête de la Toussaint et conformément à la disposition de la loi N°90 – 019 du 27 Juillet 1990 fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin, la journée du dimanche 1er novembre est fériée, chômée et payée sur l’ensemble du territoire."), as was the case last year (2019-10-22)
As on other previous occasions (2019-08-13, 2019-08-09, 2019-06-06, 2019-06-03, 2019-05-27), the declaration of Sunday, November 1, 2020, as a non-working public holiday in the Benin is in line with the previously-announced list of annual non-working public holidays in the Benin for the calendar year 2020, as announced by the government of Benin, earlier this year (2020-01-06), as well as with the "loi n°90-019 du 27 juillet 1990 fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin".
