The Bulgarian Government has released its annual list of regular non-working public holidays and day in lieu public holidays in Bulgaria for the calendar year 2021.

In the past, an annual Decision on the reversal of the holidays, would declare one-off bridge public holidays in Bulgaria during the coming calendar year, compensated by the declaration of the same number of working Saturdays (2015-11-27, 2014-11-05, 2013-11-14, 2012-11-15, 2011-11-17, 2010-12-16, 2009-12-16, 2009-09-10 and 2009-02-19).

However, a major revamping of the Bulgarian public holidays rules, in late 2016 (2016-12-20, 2016-11-30 and 2016-10-12), put an end to this by making the declaration of Bulgarian public holidays more systematic (2019-12-19, 2018-12-16 and 2018-01-04).
