The government of Burundi has declared Friday, June 26, 2020, as a one-off public holiday in Burundi, on account of the funeral on that day of the former President of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza..
Last month (2020-05-19), then Burundi's President, Pierre Nkurunziza, had signed a decree declaring Wednesday, May 20, 2020, as a one-off public holiday ("jour férié, chômé et payé") in Burundi, on account of the then upcoming presidential, legislative and communal elections being held on that date.
