Earlier today, Burundi's President, Pierre Nkurunziza, signed a decree declaring Wednesday, May 20, 2020, as a one-off public holiday ("jour férié, chômé et payé") in Burundi, on account of the upcoming presidential, legislative and communal elections being held on that date.
A couple of years ago (2018-05-16), Thursday, May 17, 2018, had similarly been declared as an additional non-working public holiday in Burundi, on account of the then upcoming "référendum constitutionnel", as per the "décret no 100/048 du 15 mai 2018".
