Canada February 21 Public Holiday Bill

Senator Mobina Jaffer has introduced Bill S-212 ("an act to recognize International Mother Language Day on Feb. 21 as a Canadian holiday") into the Canadian House of Commons.

Currently, International Mother Language Day is observed as an official non-working public holiday only by Bangladesh (2019-11-25).
