Chad's Ministre de la Fonction Publique, du Travail et du Dialogue Social, Ali Mbodou Mbodoumi, has issued a communiqué declaring Saturday, November 28, 2020, a as public holiday in the Chad, on account of the upcoming Republic Day public holiday of the Chad ("la journée de samedi 28 novembre 2020 est déclaré fériée et chômée sur tout le territoire").
The aforementioned announcement goes on to state that "La journée du lundi 30 novembre est ouvrable" to quash any hope that a day in lieu public holiday would be declared on Monday, November 30, 2020, due to the Republic Day public holiday falls on a Saturday in 2020.
However, the same statement was issued last year ("La journée du vendredi 29 novembre 2019 est ouvrable") to quash any hope that a bridge public holiday would be declared on Friday, November 29, 2019, to link the 2019 Republic Day public holiday with the subsequent weekend (2019-11-26).
And yet, a few days later (2019-11-29), the very same Ministre Ali Mboudou Mboudoumi issued a communiqué declaring Sunday and Monday, December 1 and 2, 2019, as public holidays in the Chad, on account of the upcoming Freedom and Democracy Day public holiday of the Chad falling on a Sunday in 2019 ("les journées du 1er et 2 décembre sont déclarées fériées, chômées et payées").
