The Ministry of Labour of the Dominican Republic has issued an official communiqué confirming that, as per the current legislation on public holidays in the Dominican Republic, the upcoming "Día de la Altagracia" annual non-working public holiday would be observed, unchanged on its traditional date of January 21.

The aforementioned announcement ("El Ministerio de Trabajo reitera a toda la colectividad empresarial y trabajadora del país que el “Día de la Altagracia”, festividad religiosa que se celebra el martes 21 de enero, no se cambia") is in line with last autumn's official listing of public holidays in the Dominican Republic for the year 2020 (2019-11-10), and follows the 1997 "Ley No. 139-97 mediante la cual los días feriados del calendario que coincidan con los días martes y miércoles, jueves o viernes" (1997-06-19).
